Tongzhou organic waste resourceful treatment project, which is located in Zhangjiawan area, Tongzhou District, Beijing, next to the Zhangjiawan WWTP, is the key project of "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" of Beijing Municipalgovernment and Tongzhou government, is an important environmental protection infrastructure project of Tongzhou District who serves as a deputy administrative center of Beijing, and also is one of the key supporting projects for the Beijing Municipal Government's eastward relocation.

The project adopts advanced collaborative anaerobic treatment of a variety of organic waste. materials (restaurant waste, manure , sludge, etc.) enter into the anaerobic system after the pretreatment, and the biogas is used by CHP. 

Effect:

The construction of the project solved the problems caused by the restaurant waste, manure and sewage sludge in Tongzhou and its surrounding areas, and make the waste reduction, harmlessness, recycling and energization come ture. After the completion of the project, 220,000 tons of restaurant waste, manure and sewage sludge are treated annually for Tongzhou and its surrounding areas, contributing to the green, ecological and sustainable development of Beijing.
